We strive to provide a work environment where all of our employees are part of a collaborative design team, where each member is respected for who they are.

Dalessio Engineering, LLC, stands upon a family tradition of over 75 years and three generations of providing structural engineering services. John Dalessio, P.E., M.E. ’40, M.S. ’51, College Professor, Navy Veteran and structural engineering, shared his loved of his fellow man and love of engineering with his children. For over 60 years, he raised his family, practiced structural engineering and strove to advance the welfare of society.

His son, John T. Dalessio, P.E., M.E. ’67, M.S. ’69, caught the love of structural engineering. A career designing bridges, municipal engineering and building engineering followed. In 1985, at the suggestion of his father, John T. Dalessio, P.E., entered into an agreement with Joseph Layer, P.E., to acquire his structural engineering practice. On April 28, 1985, John T. Dalessio, P.E., P.P., Consulting Engineer began practice as a sole proprietorship.

For thirty years, the firm grew from a one person office to a multi-person office. The range of work included new buildings, additions to existing buildings, evaluation and repair of existing buildings. The reach extended from Niagara Falls to Florida and westward to Cleveland, with most of the projects in the New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia area.

Matthew K. Dalessio, P.E., B.S. ’97, M.C.E. ’99, became the third generation to share the love of structural engineering. He joined the firm in 2000. Soon after, his wife, Claire Prisco-Dalessio, P.E., B.S. ’96, also joined the firm.

In 2015, a new entity, Dalessio Engineering, LLC, was formed with John T. Dalessio, P.E., Matthew K. Dalessio, P.E. and Claire Prisco-Dalessio, P.E., as the principals. The intent is to continue the tradition of quality structural engineering services with a focus on the needs of our clients and concern for the well-being of our staff.
